Beginning February 8th 2016, Wine Disciples is excited to offer a wine education program designed and led by Dylan York. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable with significant history in the wine industry and will offer their informed and unique perspective to all topics covered. This is going to be fun! I hope you join us on this adventure.
Instructor Dylan York has over 20 years experience in the food and wine industry. He cut his teeth in the restaurant business at an early age while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science with plans of continuing on to medical school. But a magical bottle of Bordeaux changed his course. Dylan has since worked in all aspects of the wine industry—from production, to retail, to brand management—but teaching is his passion. Dylan’s often sold-out classes are highly interactive and seek to debunk the myths about wine appreciation. He is a certified sommelier through the Court of Masters, WSET certified and is currently the eastern US sales manager for Blackbird Vineyards, Napa Valley.
Instructor Georgi Vladimirov grew up in Bulgaria, spending summers on his grandparents’ farm helping them harvest grapes and make wine – experiencing farm to table dining first hand. Georgi began his hospitality career in New York at Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, where he worked as a sommelier and taught weekend wine classes. His career continued as a sommelier at Del Posto and Alto, and later as beverage director of Lupa Osteria Romana, where he curated a list of more than 500 labels. After traveling through the classic wine regions of Europe, meeting with wine makers at historic estates, he has returned to NYC to share his passion for wine with the Wine Disciples community.
